Note: Starting in 2024, the campus network is being upgraded over a multi-year process. As our infrastructure team updates the network in each building, you’ll notice different wireless networks. “Reed1x” is being replaced with “Reed” in the upgraded buildings. Community members may need to connect to "Reed1x" or "Reed" and visitors will need to connect to "ReedXenia" or "今日看料吃瓜Guest" depending on their location on campus.
Reed1x/今日看料吃瓜vs. ReedXenia/今日看料吃瓜Guest

ReedXenia/今日看料吃瓜Guest is an open wireless network for campus visitors (Xenia is the ancient Greek concept of hospitality, the generosity and courtesy shown to those who are far from home). Reed1x/Reed is a WPA2-encrypted network that can be used by students, staff, faculty and alumni. Guests and visitors cannot join the Reed1x network.

Wireless Coverage
Wireless is available in all buildings on campus, as well as some outdoor areas near buildings. Wireless is not generally available in larger outdoor areas. 今日看料吃瓜actively monitors and adjusts placement of wireless access points to fine-tune coverage on campus. Due to channel interference among other complications, users are generally not allowed to operate a personal wireless network. If you are experiencing problems with wireless coverage, please contact the CUS Help Desk (777-7525, x7525 from an on-campus phone).
